Patiala Peg

"Colonial elegance" best describes this bar, located in the Imperial Hotel. Leather banquettes and dark wood paneling provide a relaxing spot to sip a drink, while the attentive wait staff fawns over you. Cocktails are the drink of choice and there is an extensive menu to choose from. Smart-casual attire.

Patiala Peg, one of the most popular bars in Delhi lives up to its name, which indicates larger measure of 75 ml pegs instead of the usual 60 ml. As the legend goes, the Bar commemorates an exciting tent pegging encounter that took place in the early 1900s between the Viceroy's team and the team of the Maharaja of Patiala. The Bar has a remarkable collection of photographs of the Maharaja of Patiala during the Second World War.

Patiala Peg reflects the ambiance of the five-star hotel in which it is housed. The Imperial is regal and grand in every sense, the mood is elegant, and the decorum is dignified. The bar is heavily wood-paneled and spills onto a garden courtyard restaurant. Waiters are dressed in the traditional garb of the Indian Maharaja's staff and are quite experienced in the art of pampering. The price is high, but the concoctions and the setting is one of a kind. Patiala Peg can only be described as an experience.
